Photo Contest Winners Announced!

First, I just want to thank everyone for participating in this fun photo contest. Biggest thanks go to Canvas On Demand for their generous sponsorship. If you get a chance, please give them a little love on their Facebook page to let them know that we appreciated it :)

Photo contests are supposed to be fun. They are meant to challenge us and afford an opportunity to grow, as well as win a prize. I hope that even if you didn't win, you felt inspired by a fellow artist or simply empowered by the fact that you were brave enough to put yourself -- and your art -- out there for so many to see! I realize for sensitive artistic types, that is never an easy thing to do. I cannot tell you how many notes and emails I got from people expressing their amazement at this group's creativity and I want to let you know that your efforts and involvement were an inspiration to so many others -- myself included! In my opinion, everyone wins and I'm happy to announce special product discounts for the participants and voters in this contest (see below).

Second Prize Winner is Jim Vance, owner of Vancelvanian Designs ($75 Canvas on Demand Gift Certificate and $35 JD Textures Gift Certificate) with "Emily - Steampunked". To help edit this photo, applied "Allegory Vignette" (Super Grunge Vintage) and Love Letter (from Texture Pack 4) inverted.

First Prize Winner is Amber Richardson, owner of Photography by Amber Lee ($150 Canvas on Demand Gift Certificate and $75 JD Textures Gift Certificate), with "LOST".  To help edit this photo, she applied Dream (Texture Pack 2) and Shelby (Texture Pack 3) in Overlay mode.

In the past, I've offered multiple prizes awarded not on votes, but on a judging panels choices. For this contest, there could be only one Grand Prize Winner and so I asked only one judge. As we generally get a tremendous number of entries, I decided to narrow it down for her, and so she considered only the top-20 most voted-for entries. Even narrowed down, she told me it was incredibly tough to pick a winner! It is with extreme pleasure that I can not reveal my amazing guest judge was none other than the fabulously talented Andee, from CRAVE PHOTOGRAPHY. I love her! Andee had such kind compliments to give our Top 20 but she eventually settled on one Grand Prize winner who will receive a $250 Gift Certificate for Canvas On Demand and a $100 Gift Certificate for my textures.
